CPR Coach in the operating room

Original publication title (Spanish): CPR Coach en quirófano: del algoritmo al desempeño del equipo

María del Carmen Molina-Torres · Rafael Eduardo Herrera-Elizalde

Defines the CPR Coach’s role in protecting the mechanical quality of CPR while clinical leadership focuses on diagnosing and treating the causes.

Main contribution

The contribution addresses a team role dedicated to CPR performance. The 2025 systematic review found low- or very-low-certainty evidence on quality and adherence; pediatric simulation studies predominate. It does not demonstrate improved survival or establish specific effectiveness in adults in the operating room. A possible perioperative adaptation must be explained as a proposal and evaluated in its context.
